Trintech Group Plc has launched SmartPIN Xpress, a solution designed to allow small and mid-tier retailers to migrate to Chip and PIN.
In the UK, Chip and PIN cards are in widespread use and there is a growing expectation from customers to enter a PIN rather than sign for transactions. However, for many retailers, EMV migration is proving to be a complex and costly exercise. Even in the UK, where EMV migration is relatively advanced, many smaller retailers have yet to introduce Chip and PIN. Reasons cited by retailers include the effort and cost of POS integration which adversely affects their business case to migrate to Chip and PIN. SmartPIN Xpress is a reliable end-to-end solution that encompasses everything small and mid sized retailers need to migrate to Chip and PIN.
“SmartPIN Xpress brings together our expertise in both hardware and software to provide a comprehensive, easy to deploy, Chip and PIN integration from a single vendor solution” says Eamon Keating, general manager of Trintech’s Payments Division. “Small and mid-tier retailers now have access to a complete and accredited Chip and PIN authorization solution, usually adopted by multiple retailers.”
