Trintech Group, a provider of transaction management and payment infrastructure solutions, has joined forces with Retail Logic to provide UK retailers with a secure and easy-to-deploy end-to-end Chip and PIN solution.

Retail Logic, a full-service solutions and systems provider, and Trintech have now completed development work that integrates Trintech Chip and PIN hardware, including Smart 5000 and Compact 950 PIN Pads, with Retail Logic’s Smart-Switch software. This means that Retail Logic customers will be able to take full advantage of Trintech PIN Pads.

Successful Chip and PIN implementation often relies on many vendors working closely together to deliver a seamless integrated solution to retailers. However, this is the first time that major competing vendors, both with significant expertise of Chip and PIN, have worked together in the interest of providing the best solution for the retailer.

“Our approach has been to offer a solution that makes it simple for retailers to migrate to Chip and PIN”, says Eamon Keating, General Manager of Trintech’s Retail Division. “We recognize that a large number of our customers use Retail Logic software so we were keen to work together to develop a solution that makes it as easy as possible for these retailers to deploy our Chip and PIN devices”.

Mark McMurtrie, Retail Logic Marketing Director, adds: “We’re delighted to have completed the project to integrate Smart-Switch with Trintech’s PIN Pads to satisfy the demands of our mutual customers. Different retail environments demand different hardware and it’s vital that customers have as wide a choice as possible. We believe that the availability of an off-the-shelf Retail Logic and Trintech solution will benefit retailers by reducing project timescales.”
