The news that shares in Ohde Sangyo Co.will move to JASDEC on Thursday next week means that from 20 November 2003 there will be no non-JASDEC shares listed either on a Japanese stock exchange or the JASDAQ over-the-counter market. In other words, the transfer of equity securities to JASDEC is now complete.
The decrease in the number of the non-JASDEC shares accelerated after April 2002, when the Japanese stock exchanges made moving to JASDEC a condition of being listed. However, 16 shares with restrictions on foreign ownership
will continue to be kept outside JASDEC to ensure
foreign investor’s titles on dividends and other shareholders’ rights.
