KPMG LLP, the U.S. audit, tax and advisory firm, has been ranked second on Training magazine’s 2009 Top 125 list, an annual ranking recognizing the leading employer-sponsored workforce training and development programs.

It is the third consecutive year the firm has been named among the top ten, coming in at No. 7 in 2007 and No. 5 in 2008.

Each of the 125 companies on the Training list are measured based on rigorous examination of the range of training offered, the quality and innovation with which training is delivered and the impact of training in meeting core strategic objectives.

KPMG offers a wide variety of training programs on a broad range of topics for the firm’s partners and employees deployed through classroom and technology-based delivery methods including hands-on simulations, web-based training, virtual classrooms and other blended learning applications.

This flexibility recently allowed KPMG to develop and adapt cross-functional training programs addressing the evolving impact of the credit crisis on KPMG clients. Through virtual classroom sessions, daily business and economic updates, and other training programs KPMG professionals receive timely and practical training to effectively address client needs.

“This award demonstrates our clear commitment to the professional development of our people and being a great place to build a career,” says Bruce Pfau, vice chair, human resources, KPMG. “The value we bring to our clients is based in the skills, knowledge, and judgment of our people, which is driven in large part by our extensive training programs.”

“KPMG’s success is driven by the high-caliber people who are committed to serving our clients,” said Pfau. “That’s why our training function is and will remain agile and flexible to address the changing risk climate and issues our clients face.”
