Trading Volume At BME Hits Euros 637.53 In September

The value of trading exceeded on the BME hit a new annual record of € 637.53 in September.

The same month, trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE reached € 73.47 bn, 69% up on the same month in 2004. The value of trading on Latibex came in at € 46.5 million, a monthly record high.

Trading on MEFF also exceeded that for 2004, at 29.5 million contracts, 42% up on the year. And trading volume in Corporate Debt on AIAF in September was € 88.11 bn, 65.7% up on the year.

Trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE amounted to € 73.47 bn, which represents a year on year increase of 69%. During the month more than 1.6 million bargains were carried out on the market, 67% up on 2004. The accumulated value posted from the beginning of the year was € 637.53 bn. The figure exceeded the volume posted in 2004 and represents the highest annual trading volume ever posted by the Spanish Exchange.

The value of trading on Latibex, the market in Euros for Latin American stocks, came in at € 46.5 million, 43% up on the year. The number of trades on the market increased by 74%. Between January and September the value of trading was € 382 million. This figure is higher than that reached all through 2004 and represents the highest annual volume posted in the history of this market.
