OneChicago says 258,564 contracts traded at the Exchange in May, an increase of 165% over May 2004 trading volume and the fourth consecutive month of year-over-year volume increases.

Average daily volume in May was 12,313 contracts. Year-to-date 2005 volume is 91% ahead of the same period in 2004.

Each single stock futures contract is equivalent to 100 shares of the underlying stock or exchange-traded fund. The top five single stock futures contracts by volume in May were: Bank of America Corp. (BAC1C) Pfizer (PFE1C) Home Depot Inc. (HD1C) Exxon Mobil Corp. (XOM1C) 3M Co. (MMM1C).

The Exchange lists 171 futures on single stocks, including futures on the DIAMONDS Trust.
