Scott Logic has appointed Richard Smith as senior consultant, a role which will see him joining the Edinburgh office as part of the Scottish team.
The company is currently pursuing an aggressive recruitment programme, with seven new arrivals in the last two months alone.
Smith previously worked for Amazon, where he was the second hire at the company’s Regional Development Centre in Edinburgh and was involved in a number of high profile, high revenue projects.
Smith studied Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at The University of Edinburgh and then gained a PhD in Genetic Algorithms. He has also worked as a Research Associate at the University and for IBM, researching neural networks.
“We are delighted to welcome Richard to the team. He brings an enormous wealth of technical experience, especially in web based programming. He has worked on world-leading websites that have to deal with high throughput. His skills match the type of work we undertake for the financial community, where systems have to be 100% accurate,” says Gary Scott, managing director, Scott Logic.
“Scott Logic offers great prospects and the opportunity to work on interesting projects in the ever growing finance sector in Scotland. It is the perfect environment for software engineers, working within a highly talented team,” adds Smith.
