State Street has named Tony Phillips as head of its London-based Consultant Management Team. Phillips will report to Martha Whitman, vice president of State Street’s investor services business in the United Kingdom.
Phillips has more than 30 years of experience in pensions servicing and consulting. He spent 15 years at Xerox Ltd. in a variety of roles, most recently serving as director of pensions with overall responsibility for international pensions policy, strategy and operations for all Xerox pension schemes.
At State Street, he will be responsible for the company’s contact with consultants, particularly in the pension and collective investment sectors. “Tony’s appointment will help advance State Street’s position as the investment services provider of choice for UK clients,” says Whitman. “This role is key as we build upon the considerable momentum of new mandates we’ve experienced over the past year.”
In 2003, State Street’s UK investor services team established forums that included quarterly discussion groups and a newsletter to provide State Street and market news to consultants. Tony Phillips will lead and expand these initiatives in 2004.
