Tony Kirby To Replace Francis Remacle?

Word on the streets of the City of London is that former GSTPA executive director Tony Kirby is to part company with his latest employers, IT company Smartstream, at the end of this month. If confirmed, the news means Kirby has run through four firms – Bolero, Reuters and Deutsche Borse are the others – since stepping down from the GSTPA. Perhaps he should consider returning to former employer SWIFT, where the impending retirement of Francis Remacle as Head of the Securities Industry group has sparked a search for a successor drawn from the industry. SWIFT offers evangelising and high level strategic thinking roles that play to the visionary strengths of Kirby, though CEO Lenny Schrank may prefer to appoint some one who can (to borrow from the best phrasemaker in the securities services industry) “get tangible”.
