Omgeo says Tony Freeman, the former JP Morgan banker who serves as its Director of Industry Relations for EMEA, has joined the ISITC Europe Executive Board. Freeman was voted on to the Executive Committee as one of three vendor representatives alongside Nigel Solkhon of IBM and Doug Boit of COR-STP.

Tony Freeman has been an active participant in ISITC Europe since its inception. He joined Omgeo in 2004, where he is responsible for expanding Omgeo’s relationships with European industry associations, building stronger partnerships with infrastructure providers, advising the business on developments in the regulatory arena as well as leading Omgeo’s adivsory board efforts across Europe.

Freeman joined Omgeo from JPMorgan Investor Services, where he held a number of positions – from Vice President of Product Management to Senior Relationship Manager for JPMorgan’s Financial Institutions Group. Prior to that, Freeman was with ISMA, the regulatory body and trade association for the Eurobond market.

“My collaboration with colleagues in ISITC Europe has allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of the operational needs of the European securities industry, and to offer in return Omgeo’s and my own experience in providing STP solutions to this market,” says Freeman. “Being elected to the board represents an opportunity to increase dialogue between all parties in the European securities industry.”

Terri Humphreys, Chairwoman of the ISITC Europe Executive Board, says that “Tony Freeman is a well-known name in the European securities industry and particularly in the operations community. Having Tony on the board as one of our vendor representatives will ensure that the issues facing European solutions providers and their clients will be treated with the importance they deserve.”
