Transaction Network Services (TNS) has appointed Franz Bader as vice president of its Central and Eastern European operation. As vice president, Franz, 48, will be responsible for developing TNS’ presence in Austria, Poland, Hungary and the Czech Republic in addition to establishing relationships within new markets and expanding the customer base.
Franz said, “Central and Eastern Europe is a fast developing arena as markets open and companies explore the technology options available for business. This presents a wealth of opportunities for TNS which I will seek to harness and develop.
“By strengthening TNS’ position in existing markets and expanding into new business territories, customers can be assured of the highest levels of service and coverage from one of Europe’s most proactive companies, at a time when cross border transaction processing is becoming a reality.”
Franz was most recently with Vienna-based Telekom Austria as head of international wholesales. In this role he successfully delivered a 35% increase in revenue despite the challenging conditions presented by its shrinking market. Prior to this, he held senior positions at Astrolink and FaciliCom.

Franz lives in Perchtoldsdorf, Austria with wife Silvia and daughters Magdalena, 18, and Klara, 14. In his spare time he enjoys skiing, mountain biking and sailing.
