TMF Group has hired a former hedge fund administration expert from State Street to lead its fund services division for the China and Taiwan market.

Sabrina Li joins TMF Group in Shanghai where she will lead the build out of its hedge fund and private equity services business in the two countries.

Li joins from State Street where she was previously head of hedge fund net asset value (NAV) services in China. She held various fund services roles at Citco and HSBC, as well as in Chinese domestic firms such as Sycamore investment and Homaer Financial, focusing on hedge fund accounting and operations.

She will report to Thun Lee, TMF Group’s head of China and Taiwan market.

“Sabrina is a seasoned fund professional with a strong track record of developing and launching innovative programs and solutions for clients across the wealth management landscape. Her experience will be central to helping us grow our fund services in the China and Taiwan market – which is one of the fastest-growing territories in our industry,” said Andrew O’Shea, global head of fund services, TMF Group.

The appointment is the latest in a string of hires by TMF Group as it looks to bolster its global fund administration capabilities with seasoned experts.

These included the hire of O’Shea from Intertrust in February, in addition to Howard Eisen from Apex Group as head of fund services sales for North America in July and Kwame Lewis as head of fund services for North America from ACON Investments earlier this month.

It has also been active on the merger and acquisition (M&A) front, taking over State Street’s Channel Islands fund administration business at the end of 2018 and of Luxembourg-based Selectra Management Company in October.
