Thomson Financial announced the appointment of Bill Krivoshik as its chief technology officer, reporting to CEO Sharon Rowlands.
Krivoshik joins Thomson Financial from Citigroup where he served as the global head of technology for one of Citigroup’s four business sectors, Global Investment Management, as well as the global head of operations for Citigroup’s Life & Annuity business. Prior to that, Bill was Chief Information Officer for American International Group (AIG).
As Thomson Financial’s CTO, Bill will provide the overarching technology vision and strategy to meet Thomson Financial’s business goals. He will oversee key operational initiatives; network and technical operations; data center management; quality assurance; the Content Group; business information systems; and Thomson Financial’s Bangalore technology team. Bill will serve as a key member of the company’s Executive Committee and will represent Thomson Financial on The Thomson Corporation’s CTO Council.
“We are very fortunate to have someone of Bill’s caliber join Thomson Financial,” said Rowlands. “His past experiences, coupled with a deep understanding of our customers’ businesses, will be a real boost to our technology capabilities and will enable him to continue to build on our high performing global technology teams. His deep domain expertise is second to none.”
“Joining a world-class organization such as Thomson Financial is a great opportunity,” said Krivoshik. “As a former customer, I’ve seen the impressive technology and organizational transformations that the company has undergone over the past several years; its Thomson ONE technology framework is incredibly powerful. I believe that Thomson Financial is poised to become the global industry leader and I’m looking forward to being part of the team that takes us there.”
Before Citigroup and AIG, Krivoshik held senior posts at GE Capital, NYNEX and Andersen Consulting (now Accenture) and holds a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University. He has extensive experience managing large, global technology teams and his accomplishments span a wide range of activities — from standardizing system development processes and deploying e-business websites to improving operational processes and metrics that resulted in increased productivity and improved customer service.
