Thomson Financial has appointed Priscilla Hughes as General Counsel.

Hughes joins Thomson Financial from the New York office of law firm Morrison & Foerster, where she was a partner and co-head of the firm’s mergers and acquisitions practice. She will join Thomson’s legal department and report to Deirdre Stanley, SVP and General Counsel, The Thomson Corporation and Sharon Rowlands, president and CEO, Thomson Financial.

“Priscilla Hughes is the perfect person to fill this role. She knows our company, our industry and has significant experience working with Thomson on a broad range of transactions including its acquisitions of Primark, BETA Systems and The Carson Group. We’re extremely pleased to be welcoming her to the Thomson Financial team,” said Rowlands.

“Joining a world-class organization such as Thomson Financial is a wonderful opportunity,” said Hughes. “It will be both exciting and gratifying to be able to contribute a broad range of expertise and knowledge in this market in support of Thomson Financial’s goal to become the global industry leader.”
