New investment flows channelled through the Spanish stock exchange in 2007 reached $119.73 billion, only behind NYSE in the world ranking, according to data from the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE).

New investment flows channelled through the market include capital raising transactions and new flotations on the market. In 2007 there were 10 IPOs on the Spanish stock exchange and the volume of capital raising operations exceeded 59.15bn, the second biggest volume recorded in the last decade, after that posted in 2000.

In Europe the Spanish stock exchange was the second biggest in terms of IPOs, having recorded 10.08bn in 2007, only behind the London Stock Exchange, according to the IPO Watch 2007 report by PriceWaterHouseCoopers, which was published recently.
