As it was announced yesterday by the news agency named BIN the Ministry of Economics planning to approve the changes and updates to the Law of Ukraine on Foreign Investments to Ukraine in the Ukrainian Parliament.
In case if the Parliament approved the amendments to the above mentioned Law the foreign investors will have the right to invest only onto listed securities. The securities in which the foreign investor will have the right to invest must be listed at least at one of the authorized Stock Exchange. The list of the authorized Stock Exchanges will be established by the Cabinet of Ministers after the Law will be approved by the Parliament.
According to the updated Agenda of the Ministry of Economics which was announced yesterday in the evening the changes to the Law will be as follows:
In case if the foreign investor would like become the founder of the Ukrainian legal entity and the securities would become the assessed contribution such securities must be listed on the authorized Stock Exchange;The list of the authorized Stock Exchanges will be established by the Cabinet of Ministers after the Law will be approved by the Parliament.Therefore there are no changes to the current way of investing to Ukraine until the new changes would be approved by the Parliament.
Currently the Ukrainian Parliament is on vacations and the sessions will be renewed by the beginning of September 2008. Thus the changes to the Law could be approved by the Parliament not earlier than September 2008.
