John Simmers, chief executive of ING Advisors Network, will serve as the new chairman of the Financial Services Institute. The Atlanta-based industry association also named three new members and a vice chairman to its board of directors. Brian Murphy, president and chief executive of Woodbury Financial Services, was elected vice chairman.
Financial advisers Daniel W. Anderson of Swenson Anderson Financial Group and Joseph R. Russo of Advantage Financial Group joined the board, along with broker-dealer Mari Buechner of Coordinated Capital Securities Inc.
The boards former chairman, John Poff, president and chief executive of Mutual Service Corp., also remains on the board.
