The Bank of New York retained its number one spot as overall global trustee for 2005, according to data from Thomson Financial, a provider of
financial technology and information.
The bank’s top global trustee ranking includes its number one rankings
for both international bonds and US taxable debt markets, and its number
two ranking in the US long term municipal market. The bank also received
number one international rankings in structured finance issues, high
yield bonds, investment grade bonds (excluding medium term takedowns),
and emerging market issues.
In all, the bank was appointed trustee on 1,963 new debt issues
globally, valued at more than $720 billion in proceeds. This represents
6.4% of global debt market issuance in 2005.
