The Bank of New York Mellon, the asset management and securities servicing rovider, has appointed Jaime Gil-Delgado Friginal as Managing Director and Country Manager Iberia (Spain, Portugal and Andorra), based in Madrid.

Gil-Delgado was previously Managing Director for Iberia and Latin America for WestLB Mellon Asset Management and Managing Director for WMAM Luxembourg. Prior to this, Jaime also was Managing Director for Iberia for BNP Paribas Asset Management. His focus will be to ensure clients in the region receive the full benefit of the company’s leading capabilities across its broad array of products and services, and, as country head, he will fulfil the corporations regulatory requirements.

Gil-Delgado started his professional career at Banque Bruxelles Lambert. He has a MBA from Instituto de Empresa, Madrid and is a Business graduate from Universidad Complutense in Madrid.

Cesar Valcarcel continues as Deputy Managing Director responsible for the relationships in this region and reporting into Gil-Delgado.

Gil-Delgado replaces Javier de Ussel who is retiring from the company after 13 years. “I would also like to thank Javier de Ussel who has provided important leadership and contributed in many ways to our success and growth in the region,” says Woody Kerr says. “We all wish him well in his future endeavours.”
