The Bank of New York has appointed five new recruits to its securities servicing division : Elizabeth Fitzgibbons, Elin Toerre, Neil Atkinson, Maura O’Sullivan and David Prestwich.

Elizabeth Fitzgibbons joins from Fortis Bank as a hedge fund relationship manager in the Alternative Investment Services business and brings a wealth of experience from her 10 years in the financial services industry.

At Fortis Bank Fitzgibbons was a business development manager, providing funds of hedge funds managers with applications to meet their financing and administrative needs. She started her career at Investec, South Africa, and has held numerous roles in areas including product development, portfolio management and wealth management.

Elin Toerre joins from EFG Eurofinancire d’investissements, Monaco, where she was a hedge fund analyst. Toerre will join the bank’s hedge fund administration sales team in the Alternative Investment Services business line.

Neil Atkinson joins the securities industry banking division and will be responsible for business development in the broker/dealer and investment bank client executive team. Atkinson joins from Euroclear SA/NV where he held a number of roles including head of corporate actions and new issues, product manager and relationship manager.

Prior to Euroclear SAV Atkinson held positions at fund managers Ivory & Sime, Henderson Global Investors and WM Company having begun his career 16 years ago at The Bank of Scotland.

Maura O’Sullivan joins The Bank of New York’s securities industry banking division as credit analyst from EDF Energy. She is primarily responsible for carrying out financial and credit analysis of broker dealers, investment banks and hedge funds across Europe.

David Prestwich joins the Bank’s broker dealer services team as a relationship manager. His responsibilities will include managing existing clearance relationships for broker dealers and looking for growth through new markets/cross sell opportunities across the bank.

Prestwich began his financial services career with Chase Manhattan Bank in 1998, where he worked in operations and covered both team leader and supervisor positions. Post merger, he managed client relationships within JPMorgan, where he predominantly looked after both French and UK based broker dealer and hedge fund clients.
