The Financial Times has reported that Gary Potter and Robert Burdett, two star fund managers of Credit Suisse’s 1.2bn multi-manager equity funds, have left the company to join Thames River Capital, the small, privately owned asset manager.

The moves are significant for Thames River Capital, which manages about 5.1bn in hedge funds and long-only funds.

Charlie Porter, chief executive, said he had been wooing the Credit Suisse duo for some time against strong competition from some of the UK’s largest fund management groups.
