Cofunds, one of the UK’s largest independent fund platforms, has added the newly-launched Templeton Emerging Markets Smaller Companies Fund to its range of Luxembourg-domiciled fund offerings.
Cofunds was one of the first major platforms to give IFAs access to offshore funds and now offers a total of six emerging market funds managed by Franklin Templeton Investments.
Managed by Mark Mobius, executive chairman of Templeton Asset Management Ltd, the Templeton Emerging Markets Smaller Companies Fund aims to deliver long-term capital growth by investing mainly in smaller companies located in emerging market countries or companies that derive significant revenue or profits from emerging market countries.
This includes the larger markets such as China and India, as well as the frontier ones such as Vietnam and Kazhakstan.
“Earlier this year, Cofunds added the Franklin India, Templeton BRIC, Templeton China, Templeton Eastern Europe and Templeton Latin America to their range of offshore funds. We are very pleased that the Templeton Emerging Markets Smaller Companies Fund has been added, as investors who are comfortable with the higher risk nature of emerging markets now have a wider choice for their ISAs, SIPPs or the SSAS pension business available through the Cofunds platform,” says Jamie Hammond, senior director, Global Advisor Services, Franklin Templeton Investments.
