The Taiwan Stock Exchange (TSE) has announced that effective immediately, Securities Borrowing and Lending (SBL) borrowers are allowed to borrow new stocks to return outstanding SBL transactions.

TSE has also revised the SBL application form to include this specific type of transaction. Upon submission of the application form to an SBL broker, the investor needs to clearly identify specific transaction type as well as trading accounts for returning stocks, Citibank’s Global Securities Services said in a news release.

The moves follow a general relaxation of SBL regulations in Taiwan.
