Syntegra today announced that it will launch a new turret range, and demonstrate innovative video collaboration technology, at Dealing with Technology (DWT) 2002 – the global trading and risk management forum – taking place in London on Thursday, 11 April at The Brewery, Chiswell Street (Stand #15). Judith Dixon, marketing manager, trading systems at Syntegra will also make a presentation at the show – “Profit from collaborative trading” from 11.40 to 12.10 in the Upper Sugar Room. Judith’s presentation will outline how trading firms can benefit from integrating the multiple channels of communication used by clients today, as well as information and resources enterprise-wide, to maximise every opportunity.

On display for the first time in the UK will be Syntegra’s ITS pV405Hi and pV105Hi turrets. ‘Hi’ refers to ‘Hub inside’, providing a direct connection from the turret to a firm’s structured wiring without the need for an under-desk hub. The key benefits for firms using the new turrets are reduced cabling and simplified administration, keeping trading floor disturbance to a minimum. The pV405Hi is designed specifically to bring fast and reliable voice communication to the trading floor. The pV105Hi offers full turret capability in a much smaller footprint, making it ideal for middle and back office staff who still need to keep in touch with what is happening on the trading floor on a real-time basis.

Continuing Syntegra’s strategy for having IP-ready turrets, both turrets are equipped to exploit IP technology.

Syntegra will also be showcasing its next generation computer telephony integration (CTI) offerings, ITS Myriad and Wireless ITS Myriad. ITS Myriad is the collaborative trading platform, designed to link clients, colleagues and trading partners allowing them to communicate using any channel – such as voice, web, email, video, mobile and instant messaging – and any resources, irrespective of where they are based. Wireless ITS Myriad takes this one step further, by enabling traders to stay in touch with clients, keep track of market developments and monitor trading floor activity while on the move, using a personal digital assistant (PDA) or mobile phone.

In addition, on display for the first time at DWT, will be Syntegra’s new video collaboration capabilities. Syntegra has teamed up with Avistar, a leading provider of enterprise video communication solutions, to demonstrate the ITS video trading platform, created by the integration of Avistar’s video operating system, AvistarVOS(tm) with the ITS voice trading and the ITS Myriad collaborative trading platforms. Using Avistar’s videoconferencing technology, Syntegra will demonstrate how traders can easily make two-way or multi-party collaborative video calls through their turret; record themselves or their videoconferences for later playback; instantly create video presentations; and seamlessly bring in desktop applications such as Excel and PowerPoint to share with conference participants, or video from outside sources such as CNN and CNBC, to discuss with the call participants.

“At Syntegra, we spend a lot of time working with our customers to determine how technology innovations can be harnessed for competitive advantage in the trading room,” says Judith Dixon, marketing manager, trading systems at Syntegra. “The integration of video with the ITS voice platform and ITS Myriad integration framework will help traders work more effectively and reap the benefits of face-to-face collaboration without the need to travel, or even leave their desks. This is very important in today’s competitive, global financial services environment.”
