Syntegra announced today that brokers Prebon Yamane went live in Sydney earlier this month with its ITS turrets, speakers and voice-trading technology. The new technology replaces an older Syntegra system that the broker installed in 1992.

“Following the decision to move to new premises at 363 George Street, Sydney, we undertook an extensive analysis of the technology to use on our new trading floor,” explains Keith Sedergreen, managing director for Prebon Yamane (Australia) Pty Limited. “We looked at Syntegra alongside its competitors and felt that Syntegra offered the right voice trading technology for our needs, as well as excellent service. Having previously worked with Syntegra, we knew we could trust them to deliver the technology on time and on budget, and also to provide a managed trading systems service for us on an ongoing basis.”

Syntegra says it took responsibility for the complete design, installation and maintenance of the trading room. Prebon Yamane has also signed a Managed Services agreement with Syntegra to manage all voice technologies in the dealing room, over a period of at least three years. Syntegra and Prebon Yamane administrative staff will use ITS profile from Syntegra’s ITS Management Suite to ensure the smooth running of the voice trading technology and to centrally manage any updates to the system or configuration issues.

30-odd brokers at the new office have been equipped with Syntegra’s ITS pV405 turrets running on Release 13, together with Syntegra’s ITS pVs81i eight way speakers. These are supported by an ITS p51 platform, designed specifically for the medium-sized trading floor. Syntegra also implemented voice recording technology from Nice and a Meridian PABX from Nortel Networks.

In addition, Prebon Yamane has opted for Syntegra’s ITSlink computer telephony integration (CTI) software. ITSlink is designed to help improve customer service by linking relevant customer details, trade history and portfolio information to both inbound and outbound calls.

“Syntegra is thrilled to have played such a key role in setting up Prebon Yamane’s new trading floor. We will continue to support the broker over the years to come through our managed trading system service and look forward to a long and fruitful partnership,” says Tom Frtunik, general manager, trading systems, Australia, at Syntegra.
