SWIFT is launching a cloud-based connectivity service called Alliance Lite2, which allows users to exchange messages and files over the SWIFT network without having to install extensive software or hardware.

The service, which is now available after a successful beta test, supports all message formats, standards and file types, as well as automated and manual exchange of messages and files. Customers will receive setup help and 24/7 support from SWIFT, and can optionally receive automation assistance as well. The service is accessed via the Internet or a virtual private network.

Alliance Lite2 will combine SWIFTs world-class security and reliability with the simplicity of a cloud-based connection, says Juan Martnez, head of Cloud Services at SWIFT. With its robust features and ease of use, Alliance Lite2 is suitable for a large majority of our customers. Weve paid particular attention to the needs of new SWIFT customers with our comprehensive Alliance Lite2 service offering.

We welcome Alliance Lite2 as a simpler way for customers to connect with us using SWIFT. In particular, SWIFTs service offering around Alliance Lite2 will make on-boarding easier so our customers can benefit from our services even faster, says Bill Wrest, head of Business Development for Non-Bank Financial Institutions at Barclays.
