SWIFT is appointing Javier Prez-Tasso as the head of marketing, succeeding Gottfried Leibbrandt, who recently left the post to become CEO.
Prez-Tasso, who will be reporting to Leibbrandt, comes to the position from his previous role as head of Products and Services for SWIFT, where he helped evolve the companys platform to reduce the total cost of ownership for customers. He also has also held several other positions in the company since he joined in 1995, including head of Western Europe, Middle East and Africa.
“Javier carved out an impressive career working in several parts of the organization,” Leibbrandt says. “He brings an in-depth understanding of the company, both in sales and marketing, as well as a strong track record of building high performance teams.”
Originally from Spain, Prez-Tasso studied in France, Belgium as well as Madrid, holding a degree in Electrical Engineering from Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, an MBA from Solvay Business School, a Master in Finance from IE Business School and the Executive TGM from Insead. He will be based at the SWIFT headquarters in Brussels.
