Trema says the Third Swedish National Pension Fund (AP3) has, after an extensive public procurement process, selected Trema Finance KIT as its new investment management system.
AP3 manages SEK 152 billion of the buffer fund capital in the Swedish public pension system. The fund’s mandate from the Swedish Parliament is to invest the fund capital in a way that creates maximum benefit for the Swedish pension system. Ranked in the top 25 European pension funds, AP3 invests the majority of its assets in the international markets, using a broad range of asset classes. About 30% of AP3’s portfolio is managed by external managers. AP3 has built a highly focused asset management organisation with a vision to combine best-practice from asset managers worldwide with the latest thinking in financial theory. AP3 was named 2002 European market leader for investment strategy by Investment & Pensions Europe (IPE).
Trema says the drivers behind AP3’s selection of Finance KIT included its sophisticated large instrument coverage spanning all asset classes, its modern scalable architecture, the system’s flexibility and its ability to interface to multiple external systems used for analysis, execution, settlement, clearing, reconciliation, market and benchmark data. Trema also claims that Finance KIT will reduce operational cost and risk as well as the risk of compliance breaches throughout the transaction lifecycle. It says Trema Finance KIT “marks a new generation of investment management systems, comprising one single system enabling position and risk management, full compliance and visibility of all assets managed internally and externally.”
“We are delighted to have been selected by AP3, renowned for its best in class asset liability modelling, investment strategy and a strong focus on external asset management,” says Thomas Bergqvist, General Manager Northern Europe, Trema. “We especially appreciate AP3’s commitment to actively participating in future enhancements of Finance KIT.”
