LCH.Clearnet Group has appointed Daniel Maguire as global head of SwapClear, a promotion from his most recent position as head of SwapClear in the U.S.

Maguire will replace Michael Davie, who will focus on his role as CEO of LCH.Clearnet Ltd. Maguire will report to Davie and join LCH.Clearnet Group’s executive committee.

Maguire, a Global Custodian legend, first joined LCH.Clearnet in 1999, starting off in operations and quickly moving into risk management. Then in 2005, he went to J.P. Morgan to build up the end-to-end infrastructure for the firm’s commodities, exotics and hybrids business. Three years later, he came back to LCH.Clearnet just in time to help the company weather the financial crisis. In 2009, he moved over to the SwapClear side of the business and has since built the firm’s U.S. clearing operations from the ground up.

“We are delighted that Daniel Maguire is assuming the role of global head of SwapClear. He brings a wealth of experience to the role, having played an integral part in building SwapClear’s US business over the past two years. Under his leadership, SwapClear will continue to build on its reputation of closely partnering with members and clients to deliver world-class service and solutions,” says Suneel Bakhshi, CEO of LCH.Clearnet Group. “I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Michael Davie for his exceptional leadership over the past three years. He led SwapClear through a period of significant growth in a rapidly evolving competitive and regulatory landscape. As CEO of LCH.Clearnet Ltd., Michael is playing a key role in developing and executing the Group’s strategy as we position ourselves to provide even more effective solutions to our clients worldwide.”
