Banque Cantonale de Fribourg (BCF), the state bank of the Swiss canton of Fribourg, has selected SunGard’s Ambit MINT, part of the Ambit Messaging application suite. The application gives BCF connectivity to a number of financial networks, including SWIFT, SIC, euroSIC and SECOM, helping the bank to improve operational efficiency, manage risk and reduce costs.
SunGard’s Ambit Messaging is an application that is able to handle SWIFTNet services as well as traditional SWIFT FIN and SIC/Secom Swiss local market clearing connectivity. It also includes versions of the ISO 20022 and ISO 15022 data dictionaries for MT-MX message coexistence.
“Our experience with SunGard’s Ambit MINT and the strong trust we have developed with SunGard have led us to expand our relationship with SunGard,” says Christian Meixenberger, director, service center for BCF. “Ambit MINT provides BCF with an integrated multi-network solution, which we believe can help us to significantly improve our operational efficiency.”
SunGard’s Ambit MINT customers can leverage existing technology as well as extended functionality via the Ambit Messaging Hub. Together these applications help banks to meet existing messaging requirements as well as comply with future industry developments such as ISO 20022. The Ambit Messaging solution suite helps banks connect to a range of market infrastructures, including SWIFTNet (FIN, FileAct, InterAct), Central Banks, ACH and local clearing networks. The solution combines traditional infrastructure gateway capabilities such as queue management, straight-through processing (STP), message routing, translation and formatting, with a component-based J2EE architecture.
