SunGard is to unveil its new messaging platform, Ambit Messaging Hub, at Sibos 2008 in Vienna on 15 September. The application comprises a single platform on which customers can consolidate all financial messaging activity, regardless of format.

Designed for performance, flexibility and connectivity, it offers a single operation Web interface for both business and IT users that can be customized to individual or group requirements. Ambit Messaging Hub also supports all SWIFTNet services including FileAct (files) and InterAct (messages), and will serve as a FIN connector, as well as a SIC and Secom interface for the SWISS market.

“We are excited about our next generation messaging platform,” says Hans Cobben, group vice president for SunGard payments and messaging solutions. “Today, financial institutions are faced with increased competition, increased globalization and growing global economic volatility. Each of these is driving the need for significant reduction of operational costs. In addition, an increased tendency for mergers and acquisitions has created a demand for open standards and a service oriented architecture (SOA) approach to application design. The Ambit Messaging Hub is a next generation solution that offers advanced, cost-effective technology coupled with an open framework to support market neutral and vendor neutral connectivity.”

Ambit Messaging Hub supports any message standard, XML and non-XML, and allows simple and codeless transformation definition, within the context of the customer’s business logic. It protects the back-office application from any need to change due to standard updates. The Ambit Messaging Hub is scalable, thereby able to serve entry-level customers as well as tier-1 customers. The Ambit Messaging Hub is based on full Java and J2EE technology, can run on any platform and is database agnostic, which translates to a lower total cost of ownership (TCO) as organizations do not need to invest in specialized infrastructure.
