RF Lafferty, a retail and institutional brokerage firm, has gone live less than three weeks after selecting SunGards Brass order management system (OMS) and Protegent Trading Compliance using SunGard’s ASP virtual server delivery option.
SunGard’s Brass OMS provides an enterprise-wide direct market access and market making toolset along with a suite of automation, reporting and compliance tools. Broker-dealers can connect to global trading destinations through SunGard’s networks. The ASP virtual server option that R.F. Lafferty selected will help the firm reduce infrastructure, implementation time and maintenance costs. It uses business critical, virtual infrastructure technologies with no hardware requirements, providing customers with go-live capability in three to four weeks, on average.
R.F. Lafferty will use Protegent’s execution module for Reg NMS 605 and 606 reporting. It will help R.F. Lafferty to monitor its best execution obligations, make more informed routing decisions, and analyze its execution quality. Protegent’s package of applications helps financial institutions streamline the compliance process, monitor trades, and grow by soliciting a greater order flow.
“We wanted trader-oriented technology with robust compliance functionality and SunGard’s Brass was the unanimous winner among our traders,” says Andrew Hackel, managing director, R.F. Lafferty. “SunGard’s ability to help us extend our reach globally is just one of the ways it is helping us grow revenue while cutting costs.”
“We are pleased to offer R.F. Lafferty a cost-effective ‘all in one’ solution for its growing business,” says Raj Mahajan, president of trading business. SunGard. “SunGard’s Brass OMS and Protegent compliance solutions help R.F. Lafferty to offer its traders a customizable platform to help them increase revenue while applying best practices to protect the assets of the firm. Our breadth of solutions touches all aspects of the trade, helping us to meet our customers’ comprehensive needs in a cost effective manner.”
