SunGard is to enhance the technology underpinning Investar*ONE, its mutual fund unitholder accounting system, by migrating it from a client/server to a Web-based platform. The new platform will give mutual fund sponsors and broker dealers around the world, continual access to SunGard’s transfer agency platform.

In moving to a Web-based environment Investar*ONE will be deploying Web Services and XML-enabled data which will help facilitate integration with other SunGard and third party applications, says the company.

“Given SunGard’s expertise in managing applications, we help provide a cost effective and resilient hosting model for our Investar*ONE customers,” says Mark Judah, chief technology officer of SunGard’s Investar*ONE business unit. “As part of our plan to expand the use of Investar*ONE, we are incorporating the industry’s latest software features and functionality, while also laying a foundation for future development projects and changing industry conditions.”

Investar*ONE is a mutual fund recordkeeping solution used by mutual fund sponsors and transfer agents across the US and around the world.
