SunGard Investment Management Systems has appointed Doug Morgan president and John MacIlwaine chief technology officer.
Morgan joins SunGard Investment Management Systems with nearly fifteen years of senior management experience in the financial information and technology industry. In his new role as president, he will have day-to-day management responsibility for the INVEST ONE, XAMIN, IMpower, and InvesTier business lines. Most recently, Morgan held the position of senior vice president at Thomson Financial, where he had global responsibility for the company’s business in the portfolio management, trade order management, and performance measurement segments.
MacIlwaine has over twelve years of experience working in CTO capacities, primarily within the financial services industry. As chief technology officer, MacIlwaine will lead the effort to evolve INVEST ONE’s technology to the next generation, and to develop and implement an integrated technology strategy across multiple product lines. Prior to joining SunGard, MacIlwaine served as chief technology officer of Morgan Stanley Dean Witter’s private client group.
“The addition of Doug Morgan and John MacIlwaine to our management team reinforces our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our expanding client base and of the industry in general,” says Jack McArdle, group chief executive officer of SunGard Investment Management Systems. “The management expertise both executives bring to our organization will be vital as we continue to strengthen our current position in the industry, and expand our business in new regions and new industry segments, such as the hedge fund space – an initiative we launched at the outset of 2003.”
