SunGard is expanding its Asia Pacific treasury team to support the growing requirements of North Asian corporations for comprehensive treasury management.

The team, which now includes experts in Singapore, Japan, Korea and Australia, will be headed by Dr. John Morgan who takes on the role of managing director for SunGards AvantGard solutions in Asia Pacific. Based in Australia, Morgan will be responsible for the strategic direction of SunGards treasury management business in Asia Pacific.

SunGard has seen increased interest from Japan and South Koreas corporations for a treasury management solution that can cater for their global cash management and multi-currency capabilities. SunGard has now based treasury specialists in South Korea and Japan.

Michael Buttrose joined SunGards Tokyo office in August 2005 and has over 15 years experience in treasury management. Michi Chung recently joined SunGards Tokyo office and is responsible for SunGards treasury focus in South Korea. He has 6 years experience in the finance industry.

Treasury management and the AvantGard solution are key components of SunGards strategy for growth in the Asia Pacific region,” said John Wilson, president of SunGards Asia Pacific business unit. “SunGard is well placed to assist corporations as they strive to understand treasury best practices and implement a comprehensive treasury management system.”
