Sun Microsystems will be technology provider for Euronext.Liffe, chosen recently by the Chicago Board of Trade to host their new trading platform. Sun will supply the infrastructure and managed services to support the platform.
The CBOT, the world’s oldest futures exchange, selected Euronext.liffe’s LIFFE CONNECT electronic trading platform to replace its existing infrastructure as it will provide additional functionality, performance and scalability to the exchange’s electronic trading. The trading platform will be underpinned with three Sun Fire F15K servers, plus Sun Fire 280R servers and Sun Fire V100 servers as the standard for all gateways.
The new infrastructure will provide improved performance, is easily scaleable and will be developed using Sun’s Solaris operating environment. Solaris, which has been used by Euronext liffe for over ten years, gives the company the best service, performance and reliability, and is best equipped to scale with the 40% year-on-year growth that Euronext.liffe has recently experienced.
