Clearstream has hired two new executives to lead its business development activities. One is Stefan Lepp of the custody group at Dresdner, which was sold last year to Deutsche Bank.

Lepp has joined Clearstream as Head of Origination. At Dresdner Bank (Custody Solutions) in Frankfuert, he was Head of Sales and Product Management. Lepp will be based in both Luxembourg and Frankfurt and will focus on attracting new business in the ICSD and CSD arenas.

Thomas Zeeb has also joined this month as Head of Relationships for the UK, Scandinavia and the Americas and will be based in London. Zeeb was previously a Managing Director at the Bank of New York in London.

Lepp and Zeeb will report directly to Volker Potthoff, Managing Director Banking and Custody Business, Clearstream.

A Clearstream spokesman says “these two new hires bolster the substantial progress which we have made over the past 2 years in re-aligning and re-developing Clearstream’s business model and increase our ability to assist our clients throughout the value chain in supporting their own business priorities. We believe that we now have the main elements of the team in place to drive forward Clearstream’s growth, and deliver an integrated suite of solutions from the Deutsche Boerse Group to capital markets participants globally.”
