StreamBase is releasing StreamBase 5.0, a stream processing platform for complex event processing.

SteamBase says enhancements to the StreamSQL language include pattern-matching and Binary Large Object support. Other enhancements include high performance interfaces, bulk loading, and algorithmic back testing with IBM DB2, Sybase RAP and Vertica databases.

Within StreamBase 5.0, StreamBase Studio is now a full Eclipse plug-in integrated development environment.

SteamBase also says 5.0 will also include enhanced enterprise security features, integration with OpenTick and Bloomberg data feeds, advanced visualization tools and dashboards, and an application framework for algorithmic trading.
