State Street Global Advisors, the fund management and investment arm of State Street, announced today plans to expand its Advanced Research Center with the hiring of six additional analysts.

The research center is an internal think tank that develops proprietary models aimed at improving investment processes, a news release said.

A State Street spokesman said the expansion and hiring of additional quantitative research analysts underscores the bank’s commitment to investment research.

Mama Attiglah, Alejandro Gaba, Renato Guido, Zhan Onayev, Raul Rivera and Ritirupa Samanta have joined the quantitative research team led by Mark Hooker, managing director of the ARC.

These analysts will work to enhance existing models and incorporate newly-developed

quantitative forecasting techniques into the investment process at SSgA.
