State Street has revamped its senior management, with the appointment of a new head for its European franchise and a new head of its global exchange business.

Lou Maiuri, previously global head of securities finance at State Street, has been appointed the new head of State Street Global Exchange. He replaces Jeff Conway, who will now serve as head of Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for State Street.

Furthermore Paul Fleming, State Street’s global head of Enhanced Custody, will take over State Street’s securities finance unit, managing the global strategic direction and operations of its agency and principal lending programmes.

Conway, a GC Legend, took over the reins of State’s Streets EMEA business, based in London, in April this year. He served as head of State Street Global Exchange for two years before the move.

Maiuri joined State Street in October 2013, after holding various roles at BNY Mellon, including deputy CEO of asset servicing, and head of the global financial institutions group. He has also served as COO and CEO of Eagle Investment Systems.

“By aligning our middle office business and its technology platforms with global exchange, we expect to create additional opportunities to better service our clients and manage their data,” says Maiuri.

Maiuri will report to Mike Rogers, president and chief operating officer of State Street.

“Having led our securities finance and investment management servicing businesses, Lou has a keen understanding of the needs of our buy-side clients,” says Rogers.
