State Street Global Markets (SSGM), the investment research and trading arm of State Street, has hired Rebecca Schechter and Douglas Mehne.
Schechter has taken on the role of Managing Director, Product Strategy & Development, State Street Global Markets (inc Global Link). Mehne has been appointed Managing Director, GlobalLink sales and client service. Both will report to Simon Wilson-Taylor, managing director and worldwide head of Global Link at State Street.
Schechter, with more than 13 years of professional experience joins State Street from Thomson Financial, where she served as vice president for a variety of business divisions, overseeing product operations, integration and strategy. She has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from McGill University and a Master of Business Administration from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
Mehne has held sales and marketing roles for more than 17 years, and most recently served as vice president for sales and business development at Finaplex, an early stage provider of enterprise software solutions for the private wealth management industry. He also held a variety of positions with the Global Accounts team at Reuters America, securing multi-million dollar global technology and information deals. Mehne holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Husson College.
