State Street has appointed Pieter De Jong as head of its Global Services business in the Netherlands.

State Street has appointed Pieter De Jong as head of its Global Services business in the Netherlands.

He shall report to Willie Slattery, executive vice president of State Street and head of its global services business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). De Jong, who has over 30 years of experience in the asset servicing and custody industry, has been with State Street since 2004.

For the last three years, De Jong served as COO of State Street’s Edinburgh office, having previously acted as managing director in South Africa. Prior to joining State Street, he was a senior operations manager for ABN Amro Asset Management in the Netherlands.

“Pieter’s appointment further bolsters our global services footprint in EMEA. His role will ensure that our Dutch presence will continue to grow with a focus on building our client relationships,” says Slattery.

Meanwhile, BNP Paribas Securities Services has promoted Robert van Kerkhoff to head of the Netherlands, in addition to appointing a new head of sales and a new secretary general for the country.
