State Street Corporation, the provider of financial services to institutional investors, announced the winners of the eighth annual State Street Institutional Press Awards in recognition of outstanding performance in institutional financial reporting.

Launched in 2002, the State Street Institutional Press Awards were a first of its kind in the U.K. This year the awards recognised the contribution of journalists across a wide range of categories including investments, pensions and investor services and technology. Entries were judged by an independent panel of industry professionals including Malcolm McLean, Chief Executive of The Pensions Advisory Service; Steve Delo, CEO of PAN Governance and Immediate past President of the Pensions Management Institute; James Walsh, Policy Adviser, Workplace Pensions, NAPF and Sally Bridgeland, CEO at BP Pension Trustees.

The journalists were honoured at a luncheon in London hosted by Stephen Smit, senior vice president, head of Global Markets EMEA & Global Services UKMEA.

We would like to once again congratulate all the shortlisted journalists and awards recipients, says Smit. We had a record number of entries this year and the standard was, once again, extremely high, which clearly reflects the high levels of accuracy, insight and newsworthiness within the institutional media.
