RBC Global Services has appointed Standard Chartered its sole custody provider in India. This is a coup for Standard, since RBC is now the eleventh largest global custodian, with a network spanning 82 markets. Besides India, RBC Global Services also use Standard Chartered as their custodian in Hong Kong, Korea, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.

“As a world-class player recognised for creating tailored solutions for clients, it is important that our sub-custodian shares the same passion for excellence and commitment to service quality,” says David Hardman, RBC Global Services’ Head of Network Management. “Standard Chartered shares this passion, and is a trusted partner in delivering even greater value to our clients.”

Paul Hedges, Head of Custody Sales at Standard Chartered, added: “Our aim has always been to align our services with our clients’ business needs, partnering with them to create greater value for their end client. Our appointment in India further cements the strong relationship we have enjoyed with the RBC Group over the years. We are recognised as market leaders in India, where our custody and clearing services consistently win top rankings in international custody surveys.”
