Standard Chartered appoints new COO for securities services

Standard Chartered appoints operations and technology expert from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in Singapore.

Seasoned financial services professional, Tina Knights, has joined Standard Chartered in Singapore as chief operating officer for securities services.

With over 20 years of experience in operations and technology across global markets, Knights was most recently with Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

She served at the US banking giant as managing director, global markets shared operations in Asia and global technology and operations Singapore market leader.

While there, she led a multi-year transformation plan to drive innovative solutions across multi-functional teams and promoted the use of emerging technologies to transform approaches to process re-engineering and operational support models.

Standard Chartered’s securities services business has an active presence in 40 markets across Asia, Africa and the Middle East, serving custodians, broker-dealers and both international and local institutional investors.

Speaking to Global Custodian in at Sibos in London, Harwood-Jones discussed the bank’s performance across Global Custodian’s Agent Bank in Major Markets Survey and the technological enhancements it has made.
