Staffware says it has sold a business process management (BPM), is enabling Deutsche Telekom to streamline the processing of employee suggestions, in a move Staffware predicts will save the organisation Euros 130 million.
The Staffware Process Suite will enables 175,000 employees at Deutsche Telekom group head office and all group divisions, including T-Com, T-Mobile, T-Systems and T-Online, to personally submit their ideas and process them.
Deutsche Telekom has encouraged employee feedback to improve the business for over 40 years with an eye to lowering costs, improving earnings, working more efficiently and becoming more innovative.
More than 8,000 suggestions for company improvement are submitted annually, but the Staffware implementation will enable this number to be significantly increased. The group predicts that by implementing the employees’ ideas, savings of up to EUR130 million will be achieved.
The new system makes it quicker and easier for Deutsche Telekom’s idea management team across the company to connect promising employee ideas with the relevant technology or service manager anywhere in the world based on pre-determined rules and workflow processes.
If an idea is deemed practicable, the employee who submitted it receives a benefit-based premium. In principle, all company employees can take on the role of idea-maker and expert.
Deutsche Telekom chose the Staffware Process Suite based on its user-friendly interface and because it allows the Deutsche Telekom idea management team to make changes to the process easily.
T-Systems is the partner responsible for the solution’s implementation, which is due to be completed in late autumn. The new system will give all users their own personal access with chip card and PIN. Access via the intranet also enables users to save drafts, call up their current status and suggestion history.
“Idea management has a long tradition in our company and makes a substantial contribution to savings and improvements in the group,” Jьrgen Kьller, head of idea management for group tasks at Deutsche Telekom AG, says. “With Staffware’s BPM solution, we can improve customer satisfaction, raise the efficiency and usefulness of the idea management process and react more flexibly to new requirements.”
“Deutsche Telekom is a progressive organisation and selecting Staffware to help manage its employee ideas reflects this forward thinking.
Harnessing their employees’ ideas and bringing them to market faster through a streamlined process helps Deutsche Telekom stay at the forefront of innovation in a highly competitive market,” John O’Connell, Staffware chairman and CEO says.
