SS&C Technologies Holdings, Inc., a provider of investment and financial software-enabled services and software, named James Ramenda as its new Senior Vice-President, Enterprise Risk.

Mr. Ramenda will concentrate on optimizing all aspects of SS&C’s risk management software and software-enabled services from product management through to sales and support. A particular focus will be further expansion of SS&C’s risk management market presence and support of its growth plan internationally.

“I am thrilled to be leading a team of dedicated professionals with expertise and technology to evaluate and measure risk in different interest rate environments and economic scenarios,” said Ramenda. “SS&C’s extensive client base, talented personnel and broad technology base is an exciting platform.”

Mr. Ramenda brings 25 years of industry experience to his position. He has spent 22 of those years serving as co-founder and managing director of Northington Partners, Inc., an Avon, Connecticut-based investment firm. Prior to Northington Partners, he held management positions with Conning & Company and CIGNA.

“James has an excellent track record in the risk management area and his expertise will be of great value as we continue to grow our risk management business,” said Bill Stone, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, SS&C Technologies. “He will enable us to leverage our existing risk management technology and expertise and expand services into new areas, supporting investment and financial service firms as they evaluate opportunities on a robust risk-adjusted basis.”

Mr. Ramenda earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and his Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He also holds several industry designations, including Fellow Society of Actuaries (FSA) and Chartered Enterprise Risk Analyst (CERA).
