Spain-based BME reported Tuesday that it saw significant growth in trading volume during the first half of 2006, particularly during the month of July.

During the first half of 2006, the exchange saw trades worth a combined EUR623.38 billion, marking a 23% improvement over 2005.

In July, equity trading volume on the SIBE platform jumped 11% over 2005, registering EUR 91.53 billion in trade value.

The value of trading on the Latibex market came in at EUR56 million, up 18% on 2005.

The value of trading in the ETF segment hit EUR189 million.
