The value of trading on the Spanish market in the first 10 months of the year exceeded by 13% that for the year 2004, according to a news release issued by BME.
In October trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE amounted to € 81.78 bn, which represents a year on year increase of 40%. During the month more than 1.6 million bargains were carried out on the market, 35% up on 2004.
The accumulated value posted from the beginning of the year was € 719.327 bn, 35.7% up on the same period 2004. The figure exceeded by 13% the volume posted in 2004.
The value of trading on Latibex, the market in Euros for Latin American stocks, came in at € 50 million, which represents a 87% increase on the same period last year and a monthly record high since the creation of the market. The number of trades on the market in October increased by 129%.
The accumulated return on the IBEX 35 index up to October was 15.56% despite the 2.96% correction posted in October. The return on the IBEX 35 with dividends in the same period was 18.64%
The return on the IBEX MEDIUM CAP and IBEX SMALL CAP indices in the first 10 months was 35.33% and 40.92% respectively. The FTSE Latibex Top posted an accumulated annual return of 55.78%.
