In March trading in equities on the Spanish market through SIBE amounted to € 161.49 billion, which represents a year-on-year increase of 82.4 percent. The number of trades reached 3.25 million, 63.3 percent up on the year. Both figures represent monthly records.
The accumulated trading volume posted since January has come in at € 417.83 billion, up 54.6 percent from 2006. The number of trades was up 51.7 from last year.
Equity turnover on the Latibex market posted a monthly record high, recording a 22.9 percent increase from the same month in 2006. As regards the quarterly figures, equity turnover increased by 5.9 percent on the year, posting a quarterly record high.
Equity turnover on the ETFs segment came in at € 482 million, 161.7 percent up on the previous year. The number of trades increased by 11.7 percent.
